Welcome to the official site of Kendriya Vidyalaya no 2  Mangaluru , one of the most prestigious educational institutions of Dakshina Kannada  in Karnataka  State.

This centre of excellence which was first established in July 1997 in civil sector under the patronage of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi an autonomous body under the Ministry of HRD.

Kendriya Vidyalayas are composite co-educational institutions, imparting education from class I to XII. However, some of the Kendriya Vidyalayas are functioning up to X standard.

Kendriya Vidyalayas were conceived as pace setters in the field of education.  The founding fathers envisaged quality education at low cost and ensured national integration in a natural way.  The frequent transfers of the students and teachers enrich everyone to experience unity in diversity. 

Mission statement of K.V. 2 Mangaluru

"We have a four - fold mission, viz.,"

1. To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government including Defence and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education;

2. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education;

3. To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) etc.

4. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of "Indianness" among children.
